The mosaics are better preserved and the streets are narrower and more legible as streets.

It also has a practical upside worth naming: it is the only guaranteed sit-down, shade and food break on an itinerary that includes no lunch.

If that is a dealbreaker

The $138 small-group day covers the same two cities with a professional archaeologist, hotel pickup and no retail stop, and it rates 4.5 from 542 reviews. It is twelve dollars cheaper and its itinerary is archaeology end to end.

What you give up is this tour's rating, which is the highest here and earned specifically on the guiding. If the guide matters more than the itinerary, pay the $150.

Luggage, weather and mobility

The tour runs rain or shine, and the listing asks for a raincoat rather than promising a refund. The driver waits up to five minutes for latecomers.

Luggage is the constraint most people meet: not every minibus has a compartment, and the operator recommends leaving suitcases in a station deposit rather than assuming they will fit. Baby seats are available on request.
